Humanity
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." - Martin Luther King Jr
Greetings lovely people!
So I reckon when you first see that picture or title on top you might be thinking something like "Oh dear god" or "Syaza is deluded" or something like that but please don't! To start things off, the reason why I posted Jack and Finn's picture is because in this post, I will be talking about the Rickshaw Run!
So basically Jack, Finn, their friends Louis, Will, Max, Harry and Ben are on this thing called the Rickshaw Run in which they will be driving their Tuk Tuks for three weeks all around India in hope to get more views on their blog and YouTube channel SO THAT THEY can raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The Rickshaw Run team!
They are so determined to make the world a better place it's so intriguing. And it's so wonderful how they're using the Internet to spread positive things. Well often am I bombarded with questions and messages of how useless my generation is and how apathetic we can get but you know what? I strongly beg to differ. Take Jack and Finn for example. Instead of just using the Internet to upload their videos, they are using it to help other people as well. That's not being apathetic no? Also at the same time I'm quite jealous because they get to do the things they're doing! If you've read my old posts, you would know what I mean.
If this is your first time here at my blog, let me enlighten you in some of my dreams and aspirations in life:
1) I have an endless capacity for wanderlust. I would like to travel the world and meet different people and also at the same time, learn about the different cultures. I would like to see the world in another point of view and embrace the world and it's loveliness. That's also one of the reason why I'm planning on taking aviation in the polytechnic.
2) It's been a life-long dream of mine to help the people of Africa and also other people all over the world who are in need. It honestly pains my heart to know that there are people out there struggling to find food and are relying on less than a litre of water a day to survive while here in Singapore we drink different types of flavoured water every single day. It's 2013. Why do all these still exist :-( that's why I would like to help, in any way that I can. On that note, my heart genuinely goes out to the people who undergoing these. May things be better for you soon. In sha Allah.
So Jack and Finn had partnered with Prizeo UK to give rewards to people who donate. For a $10 donation, you'll be recieving a special thank you email. For a $25 donation, you'll be recieving a specially designed thank you card and for $50, an exclusive shirt and card and $100 you'll receive an exclusive poster with the card and shirt! In addition, for donations above $25, you'll be receiving Maoams too!! God I love Maoams. And this is the exclusive shirt which was designed by Finn himself:
I was so excited upon hearing about this until I checked out the website and got this:
Not available in my country. It totally dampened my mood :-( sadly Singapore just won't let us donate. Ugh somebody remind me why am I back in Singapore. I want to move back to Australia. Or maybe migrate to the UK or NYC. There are so many hindrance here it just sucks. But whatever it is, Jack and Finn should always know that I'll be supporting them no matter what! Truth be told, I wasn't that big of a fan from the beginning of their journey - but I'm definitely a big Jacksgap fan now. I've loved their videos before I actually genuinely became a fan, a year ago. Their videos had most certainly drawn me to their world and it's beyond lovely. I definitely regret nothing at all. I may not be a huge and crazed fan from the start but I'd sure as hell be a fan of theirs until the end.
Based on my blog stats, I actually have viewers from the States, UK, Germany and even Russia haha that is so cool. So if you're reading this, and if it's available in your country, do donate!! Just click on this link:
Even a small amount will do. Remember, a small act of kindness goes a very long way! :-)
And here is my darling Jack saying thank you:
Update on life:
Life's been very hectic and my workload's piling up like nobody's business. I've been very stressed up and I've even resorted to food, cakes and pastries to loosen up but it's detrimental I suppose due to its high sugar content. In addition, Os is a month away. I have thus come to a conclusion that I'm horrible at managing stress. Help. I need help.
